South Park Institute of Hotel Management (SPIHM)established under VN Gangadhara Panicker Memorial Trust is a prestigious educational project initiated to add to the established businesses of one of the leading industrial groups, Mohandas Group of companies which has already made a mark in the business of hospitality, automobiles, pharmaceutics, and construction. VNGP trust, established in the year 2002 was set up to form centers of academic excellence that would accept qualitative practices with value-based education. With a vision for this, the prestigious Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2002. Keeping pace with the global scenario and immense growth of tourism in India, the trust has forayed into hospitality education and started SPIHM.

South Park Institute of Hotel Management is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) and offers a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT). The College is set on a lush green serene campus at Anad, Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram. It promotes and builds a great ambiance for learning where students and faculty members share their ideas and implement them effectively. SPIHM commits to fostering and maintaining an environment conducive to student learning. The students are trained in various facets of the hospitality industry and are therefore equipped to be future leaders and managers of the industry. It imparts deep knowledge to the beneficiaries and thereby develops skills necessary to respond to challenges in the emerging world

Founder : V.N. Gangadhara Panicker

TheV .N. Gangadhara Panicker Memorial Trust was formed as a respectful tribute to Sri. V.N. Gangadhara Panicker, eminent educationalist, philanthropist, businessman and social figure. He was renowned for his noble objectives and clarity of vision aimed at developing the economically underprivileged sections in society. With his foresight and unstinting application, he established his school over five decades ago at Anad, a Rural village near Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram District.Though located in an underdeveloped area, the well – conceived school with its quality education was deemed model institute of learning,even in those early days.considered a trend setter with its own well stocked library and auditorium that accommodated well over 1000 students, the school continues to function today in a commendable manner ,as an eloquent testimony to Sri.V N. Gangadhara Panicker’s vision in the field of education.

Sri. G Mohandas, Executive Trustee and son of Sri. V N Gangadhara Panicker is an eminent industrialist, educationalist, hotelier and prominent social personality. His extensive business interests include auto-mobiles, hotels, resorts, pharmaceuticals and plantations in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nādu, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka and The Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Thiruvananthapuram‘s prestigious five star hotel, ‘The South Park’, the best property managed by the Welcome Group is, owned by Sri. G Mohandas. Quality is a hallmark that runs through all his institutions where standards are constantly monitored and bettered. Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology is also infused with high quality professionalism and aims to be the best in the field of technical education in the country.

Smt. Rani Mohandas: Secretary, VNGP Trust

Smt. Rani Mohandas, an astute businesswoman, is on the Board of a number of companies involved in the areas of hoteliering, plantations and leisure/entertainment industry. She is responsible for the diversification of the group in to areas such as Pharmaceuticals and Education. Her managerial and leadership capabilities have proven to be of immense value to the running of various educational institutions under the trust.

Mr. Krishna Mohan: Treasurer, VNGP Trust

Mr. Krishna Mohan is a third generation industrialist and businessman from the Panicker family. Young and dynamic, he is professionally trained to be a lawyer. With excellent administration skills and entrepreneurship, he plays a crucial role in the varied and vast interests of the Mohandas Group

Mr. Gopi Mohan: ImageVice President, VNGP Trust

Mr. Gopi Mohan Nair is currently the Vice President of Mohandas Group of companies and an alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition- Pusa, New Delhi. He has been associated with the hospitality industry for 47 years.

Dr. Sreekanth Narayanan: Principal

Mr. Sreekanth Narayanan is a Ph.D. holder in Management. He holds a Post-Graduation in MBA and Hotel Management and also M.phil (Tourism Management). He has got two decades of experience as a hospitality educator and in the industry. He is well-equipped with managerial skills and leadership qualities to nurture budding talents. Mr. Sreekanth has been the Chairman and member of Board of Examinations (Hotel Management) for various Universities.
